Eddie was born in 1959 in the town of West Bromwich in the West Midlands. He is the eldest son of Jessie and Eric, who subsequently went on to raise three more offspring, Lesley, Michele and Craig who all still live in England.
His early years were normal, happy years spent as any young boy would. Junior school was Thameside junior and Hamstead junior and after that he went to Churchfields high in West Bromwich. It was there that his love of performing really started to come to the fore. A constant participant in all of the school productions Eddie was soon given more and more leading roles. Alongside the theatrical side to his performing he was also involved with a few of his friends in a band called TRIX who were called upon regularly to play at weddings and to fill local spots at working men's clubs and pubs. After leaving school Eddie found that there was a void in his performing, Trix had split and there was no avenue for him to be on stage in a theatrical sense. Sensing his need to perform his father suggested that he sold his drum kit and invested the money into becoming a mobile disc jockey and within weeks he had his first booking under the name of QUASAR ROADSHOW, this new venture turned out to be the catalyst to a new career that was to last for ten years or more. During this time Eddie was fortunate enough to experience a great deal of different jobs in the entertainment industry, Working as a local presenter for one of the major independent stations in Wolverhampton, Touring the U.K. as host and compere to the legends of Rock and Roll show featuring Screaming Lord Sutch, Heinz,Tommy Bruce, Wee Willy Harris, Cliff Bennett Jess Conrad, and many more. Eddie has also been an equity member and was as one time working in film and T.V. in the role of bit part actor. some of the productions he has been involved with are Peak Practice, The Scarlet and the Black, The Kilroy Show and many others. Amongst the other jobs Eddie has on his C.V. is being on tour as one of the Wombles, running public houses for M&B, and working on his own market stalls in and around the Birmingham area. After all of this Eddie thought that it was time to slow down and as a result of a dare at one of free and easy nights being held at one of the pubs he was running his singing career started with the song Amarillo. It was the opening to the next phase of his life as a solo singing performer.
He rapidly established himself as a one man show bringing a natural blend of his great voice and his instinctive comedy together into one highly sought after show, which worked constantly in the Midlands and went on tour in Cornwall, the North East and Scotland on several occasions. Eddie was quite content working his one man show until one day he was asked to bring a show together for a birthday party it was then he met Hollie Bourne who had been booked as the female vocalist for the show. There was an instant chemistry between them and when circumstances became right they became a couple and eventually a singing duo. This new lease of performing life took them to Mallorca in 1999 and they have been in spain ever since.
Upon arriving in Mallorca they found that it was not all that it was cracked up to be finding work was tough but through sheer determination they eventually found the work needed to live a nice life but something was missing. During the winter of 2003 they decided, upon the advice of their friend Vanessa, to make the move to Tenerife in the Canary islands and on the 21st June 2004 Jack William Edward Bourne-Hastings was born to complete the family.
Today Eddie has what he considers to be an ideal life, he lives in Tenerife with Hollie and their son Jack he works as a solo performer and also he has the privilege of being a part of two of the most in demand groups on the island, GLAMSLAM and TUXEDO-KNIGHTS alongside his good friends Tom Bell and Rick porter. Occasionally you can still find him working with Hollie as their duo WICKED (formerly Bridging The Gap).
What does the future hold? Who knows, Eddie is at the moment writing a book which has been pre accepted for publication so who knows you may see him on the shelves at your local bookstore, ALPHA 1472 is due for release late 2007.
